Professional Evaluation of Coffee Sensory Profile

The evaluation procedure for green coffee follows the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association and the Coffee Quality Institute.

We offer sensory profile descriptions based on two standards:

  • According to the principles of Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA).
This is a sensory test from the group of descriptive tests commonly used in the food industry, based on selecting such sensory attributes and categories that are relevant to a specific purpose and a specific target group.
The recommended size of the sensory panel is 8 to 12 people.
  • According to the descriptive section of the Specialty Coffee Association’s Coffee Value Assessment standard,
which uses a predefined coffee evaluation form with strictly specified sensory attributes and categories.
The recommended size of the sensory panel is 3 to 6 people.

Analytical Tests for Roasted Coffee and Certified Standards

Coffee quality evaluation can be carried out according to one of the following industry standards:

  • Specialty Coffee Association — Coffee Value Assessment, hedonic evaluation section, for Arabica and Canephora,
  • Coffee Quality Institute evaluation standard for Arabica.

Both green and roasted coffee evaluations conclude with sending a scanned report by email and — if required — courier shipment.
